The #SaWUSA Softball team arrived in Apeldoorn yesterday. Apeldoorn is a quaint village of 150,000 that dates back to the 700s! The team arrived and checked in and was able to have a practice and some down time.
Last night were the opening ceremonies of the Apeldoorn Series, a series that has been running for 29 years! After the opening festivities, SaWUSA Softball opened with a U19 Dutch Team (Team Talent Holland). Our girls lost 10-0 to a really talented team.
Today (Thursday) in Europe the team visited the Royal Palace Het Loo, a palace built in 1684 for William III and Mary II of England. Then they faced ABSA (Texas, USA) in Pool Play. Our girls lost 11-1. Following the game was the Players Party at the ballpark.
Tomorrow (Friday) we face AIST (USA) at 1:30 and then the Dutch hosts Robur ’58 at 5:30. Go #SaWUSA Softball!
